Species: SUPER HUMAN. Nah, she's a normal human that was bitten by a radioactive spider.
History: HERE.
Hometown/World: Earth(-65, in the Marvel comics canon), NYC. It's pretty much 100% like Marvel 616/MCU Earth, but the people in it are a little different.
Personality:
Here are the top five traits I think most people would associate with Gwen Stacy, on the surface: Aloof ( but secretly passionate about a select few things ), good sense of humor ( sarcasm and chop-busting, mostly. totally not a defense mechanism, no way. ), wildly lazy ( she's so bad at texting people back and following up on plans, it's infuriating ), shy ( she really only approaches people if nobody else is approaching them - she's a fan of outcasts ), and that she's kind of mysterious. But not really in a cool way once you pay attention for more than a minute, more in a... she clearly has a lot of stuff going on in her head but she keeps it all locked up in there. One of her best friends told her she's so effortlessly cool/trendy that it's a little infuriating, but that's besides the point.
Yeah, she's really great at first impressions.
It's not that she doesn't like people, if she had a car it wouldn't have a bumpersticker that says "people suck" or anything like that, but she tends to keep to herself. She's introverted almost to a fault, in a way that probably makes it seem like she's standing around judging people when really she's just zoning out trying to figure out her ridiculous life, or just how to say "hi" to someone. She'll go to parties because her friends ask her to, but she won't always have a good time just because she doesn't feel entirely comfortable in large groups.
No, she wasn't popular in high school, and she's not bitter about it, but she got used to only having a very small group of friends. And by that I mean two best friends, and her band of three other girls. They get to see a side of her that's way more outspoken and opinionated, even a little silly at times. There's a vulnerability there that she doesn't trust with just anyone. She'd burn the world down for her friends, which is probably why she's learned to just keep a few people that close. Although she does go out of her way to reach out to those who seem to be ostracized, or just alone. When Harry first transferred to Midtown, Peter told her that he had a bad reputation and that nobody would go near him, and she said that's exactly why they had to be friends. She trusts oddballs more easily than anybody else, in a way, because she feels that they don't expect anything from her, like how she should act or what she should like.
Every once in a while she's known to give a big motivational speech, something Jessica Drew has called her out on before, but otherwise she's the quiet one of the group. She's pretty wise considering she's kind of a mess as a person, but that side of her comes out when her friends need her most. She just wants to do what's right by the people in her life, even if she doesn't always know how to show it.
And that's where things get tricky - since she became Spider-Woman, she's lost her two very best friends. One, Peter Parker, she lost forever, after he took the Lizard serum to get revenge on his high school bullies during their senior prom. She had to fight him off, and the fight ultimately lead to Peter's death. A year later, Harry took the serum too, which was traumatizing!! But she helped him overcome it, which means she only really "lost" him in the sense that he's on the run now, after landing himself in trouble as the Lizard. Which hasn't helped her learn how to reach out to others at all because she's very afraid of losing someone else, or worse, putting them in danger because of who she is.
All that being said, she is the drummer of a surprisingly popular band in NYC at the moment. She keeps neglecting that part of her life, but for all the shy loner vibes she puts off, she's very comfortable on stage with her friends. Music is definitely one of those things she relies on to chill her out, and as a way of expressing herself. It's one of those things that, if you catch her at the right time, she'd babble on about for hours. Music and nerd culture. She's been known to play D&D every once in a while. Only with Peter and Harry! But still. That's a thing that happened. A thing that she keeps up locked away in secret.
But in true spider-totem fashion, Gwen turns into a huge goofball when she's donning her Spider-Woman mask. It's a security blanket, for sure, even if she ends up getting her ass kicked in it more often than not. It's easier to be outspoken and wild when you're wearing a mask, and also when you're dealing with bad people doing bad things. Her sarcasm gets cranked to eleven, and she lives for quipping like a madwoman. Luckily, it's not all jokes and bad puns when it comes to her Spider-Woman side. Her moral compass is amplified once she jumps into that persona, totally being the type to lecture bad guys on why it's bad to be bad. She goes out of her way to make sure that people face the consequences of their actions, including herself.
When she first got her abilities, she used them to make crazy YouTube videos. Seriously. She did stupid things like playing the drums upside down, and that's what Spider-Woman became known for. But then the Lizard disaster with Peter happened, and she learned the very hard way that - you guessed it - with great power, comes great responsibility. Accountability is huge for her, not only from her own personal experiences, but because that's what her dad taught her. Captain George Stacy of the NYPD, yes, that dad. And while she started out mostly fighting street-level crime ( her biggest foe was the Bodega Bandit, can you believe? ), she very quickly got sucked into the battle against the Inheritors, a race of vampires that wanted to suck that life force out of all totems. Luckily the Inheritors were defeated, but it taught her the valuable lesson that there's more to being Spider-Woman than she ever could have imagined. And instead of shying away from that life, she's jumped into it full force.
Personal Moral Codes:
- Honestly, just doing what's right. She thinks of her mask as a badge of sorts, taking on the responsibility of righting the things that are wrong in her city. She's also jumped to other universes multiple times to help them out, because some threats really are that huge. She doesn't see things in totally black and white, she's been known to break a rule or two, but she's always thinking about the greater good.
- She'll always, always stand up to bullies. You might not even need her to, but she'll do it. Bullies are the worst kinds of people, ain't nobody got time for that shenanigans.
- She loves weirdos, outcasts, and losers, because she puts herself in those categories. Therefore, she doesn't judge people for their oddities. ..Unless that oddity puts others in danger. Then, you know. Knock that crap off, please. But yeah, she tends to befriend those who are a little weird in whatever way because she believes in being 100% yourself all the time.
Insecurities/Personal Demons:
- The death of Peter Parker is easily her biggest insecurity and personal demon of all time ever. His death was an accident, but it was at her hand, and she'll never quite get over that because how could she ever? He was her best friend and biggest supporter, and she ended up having to fight him after taking the lizard serum. Tough stuff.
- She's really terrified of doing wrong by her dad, George Stacy, who just so happens to be a police captain. That's who she gets most of her moral code from, and her belief that people need to take responsibility for their actions no matter what.
- She's also terrified of failure in general, and feels that every mistake that gets people hurt should be met with equal consequences. She sets herself up though - she takes on the weight of the world and when she can't always handle it, she considers it a failure.
- Her own personal well-being often gets put to the wayside in favor of trying to save the world. Not so much just in that "leap before looking" way that most superheroes do, but long-term too. And it's absolutely a defense mechanism - being Spider-Woman is easier than being Gwen Stacy, sometimes. She also tends to cut herself off from her friends and family sometimes, which probably makes her seem depressed to people that don't know she's Spider-Woman, but luckily! It's... a mix of both depression and superhero responsibility, yes, yikes.
Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses:
- enhanced strength/speed/agility/endurance/accelerated healing basic superhero stuff.
- does whatever a spider can can wallcrawl, swing from webs, and ..okay spiders can't do this, I'm pretty sure, but she has what most people know as a spider-sense, which allows her to sense immediate danger.
- gwenom is more of an attitude than a blob that takes over her body like classic venom- it’s kind of like she’s possessed. the symbiote in her universe just feeds off of her
anger and sadness and makes her lash out. it’s also! the only reason why she still has her powers. but luckily, she learned how to control it.
- weaknesses
Ability/Power/Magic Warping:
Definitely okay with limiting her spidey-sense, which is fun because that's happened a bit in canon as well, so she's already worried about it. Slowing down her healing is also a good option, or just muting her general superhero powers just to make her feel a little slower than she does normally. Also limiting Gwenom’s wrath is okay by me too. It's up to you guys!
Inventory:
- her spidey suit
- her webshooters, one for each wrist
- her backpack with her wallet, an old notebook, some pens, her drumsticks, her phone, with headphones and a charger cable. mostly just for her music. she needs! her music!
- spare clothes
- a large coffee mug with winnie the pooh on it that uncle ben altered it to say "gwennie the pooh"
- her father's police badge

Are you comfortable with prominent elements of fourth-walling?: I'm also okay with poking at the 4th wall as a game mechanic, but the only thing I'm not okay with is someone saying she's fictional. She "came out" as Spider-Woman after a big trial ( and some jail time.. ), so it's okay if people know that about her, somehow, right out the gate too.
What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: I lovelovelove dream/nightmare related stuff, sad hallucinations are fun. ghosts! replaying moments of failure. dealing with "nega" versions of herself ( which for Gwen is kind of like Gwenom which is canon, even if she isn't there yet!! ). monsters that just won't quit no matter how hard she fights.
Is there anything in particular you absolutely need specific content warnings for?: gory visuals and body horror are my two biggies.
Additional Information: I'd like for her to retain her memories of the first time she was here, please!
